Camp Luther serves the 200+ LCMS Lutheran churches of Nebraska and many other families, congregations and organizations. Each group is unique, and our team is ready to help create a camp experience to meet your needs.

Sample Contract

“My group is planning a retreat, where do I start?”

  • The first step is to decide the length of your retreat.

    • Day Event

      • Congregation Outing

      • School Field Trip

      • Homeschool Event

      • Church or school staff retreat or in-service.

    • Weekend Retreat

      • Youth Group - Confirmation, Service Event, etc.

      • Adult Retreat

      • Father/Son or Mother/Daughter Retreat

      • Church event for families.

    • Partial- or Full-week Retreat

      • Outdoor Education

  • Camp Luther sits on a beautiful quarter-mile of forests, fields and wetlands. You will find lots of nature space to explore, to be inspired, to rest, and to draw closer to others and to Christ.

    We have bunk-style cabins equipped with twin beds, heat, A/C, and restrooms. Our year-round facilities accommodate up to 88 overnight guests. Weather permitting, our Treehouse cabins add another 30 beds.

    Our facilities include:

    • Our new Petros Welcome Center

    • Gerwick Lodge, Dining Hall, meeting space and lodging

    • Shadrach and Meshach Cabins (with plans to add Abednego for a third)

    • Four Treehouses (seasonal)

    • Picnic Pavilion and sports courts

    • Lake waterfront activity area

    • Several campfire worship sites

    • Limited tent camp options

    • Hiking trails

  • Camp Luther offers food service to groups throughout the year.

    • Full-Service. All of our meals are served cafeteria-style. Our menu options are kid-friendly and we can work with you to accommodate special diets.

    • Self-Service. Groups can supply their own food or cater a meal. Some restrictions apply.

  • Camp Luther offers a variety of outdoor activities. Our team members are trained to lead those requiring specialized equipment or training, and there are others that your group can lead on your own.

    Camp-led options include:

    • Archery or hatchet throwing

    • Boats (canoes/kayaks) (weather permitting)

    • Outdoor Ed-style sessions

    • TIP Challenge Course

    • A guide for any activity options listed below.

    Group-guided options include:

    • Bouldering Rock Wall

    • Capture the flag

    • Corn-hole / Bags

    • Disc Golf

    • Fort building

    • Nature art

    • Nature hikes

    • Sports Courts (basketball, soccer, pickle-ball, Frisbee, etc.).

    • S’mores

    • Swimming (weather permitting) is at your own risk, following our supervision guidelines.

    • TAWG (Time alone with God)

    In addition, some groups request that our team members provide an Evening Campfire with songs and a devotion.

    “What about…?” Have ideas for an activity not listed here? Please ask! We are always open to exploring new experiences that will benefit our guests and to see if we can accommodate them.

  • Once housing, meals, and event goals are set, the next question is sequencing: what should be done when? Here are sample schedules we use when building events and retreats.

    • Times listed reflect needed prep or clean up time. Please discuss major time changes with our team in advance.

    • These docs are a guide only. Actual schedules may vary based on weather, staff availability, and other factors.
